New Guinea

Today's class we watched a video about New Guinea. It was very interesting how they live their lives compared to ours. The things that are hard for them to do or have are simple tasks for us. Its amazing how money and technology can chance everything. In the video I saw how they made their houses out of bamboo and sticks,and we have million dollar houses. I feel so bad for the poor people in the world because they want the small resources that we have, that seem so dumb for people like us. They have to make things they need and we can just buy it in a store. It also makes me sad that we buy things that they make when they do not even get money for it. They make it for us and they get poorer and we get richer. I wonder about their education. They would do anything to go to a school like John Carroll, which costs thousands of money. Some kids there probably do not even have an education. I find it real interesting to learn about countries that you rarely here about. I learned alot from the video. I learned that there was inequality among the people, the power was determined by race, and they are very poor, they are isolated, etc. I hope we can match more video's.
