Today's Class 9/15/09
In today's class we talked about population in countries and population pyramids. I learned that the life expectancy for woman is higher than men. It's because men deveolp more bad health problems such as diabeates, heart disease, smoking, etc. Men also have dangerous jobs. When we studied the graphs, we found out that in Nigeria are are a lot more young people than old people. In Nigeria its part of thier culture to have kids at young ages to help support the family and work in the fields. In Germany, there are more old people than young people. Without young people there will not be any jobs, new technologies, etc. When all the young people die, there will be no people left, and Germany will not be a living country anymore. The United States has an equal amount of men, women, and children. Its interesting how different countries have different populations and life expectancy because of thier culture, environment, and where they live. We also took a quiz and I thought I did pretty good on it. So far, all the things we have learned I have grasped onto and remembered. I like this class and its a fun class to be in.
